UEA 31189Florence Henri was a Parisian concrete artist, interested in abstract works using mathematical structures with straight lines, cubes and rectangles. Her work of the inter-war period was influenced by Leger who taught her in 1922. She visited the Weimer Bauhaus in 1923 and the Dessau Bauhaus in 1926. The Bauhaus were the German art schools which led the movement to apply design principals to machine technology and mass production. Henri was also friends with the Dutch artists Vantongerloo and Mondrian.
