UEA 31268In 1960 Morellet was part of a group of kinetic artists working in Paris who formed the Groupe de Recherche d�Art Visuel. The Groupe was opposed to the idea of the artist as individual creative genius and the work of art as a unique object. They advocated the use of machines to make works in series within set parameters and with minimal emotional content. Morellet was also interested in the way in which movement could involve the spectator in a work with no fixed focal point.
