UEA 150The Incas are well known for their advanced culture, geometric architecture and violent control of an empire. Llamas provided the Incas with milk, meat and leather and had a central place in their religion, and this effigy is likely to have been placed in a grave alongside a human sacrifice. It is hollow and made from several pieces of sheet metal the joints burnished to disguise them. « Back to collection listing
