hedsor is an artistic partnership between Kimberley Foster and Karl Foster. For several years their practice has been to make innovative collections of extraordinary objects. These are formed from surreal and unexpected combinations of everyday items. Often made in response to specific gallery and museum contexts, they are designed to stir up ideas, discussion and responses as well as acting as catalysts for bigger projects. The combinations of the familiar and the unfamiliar encourages people to look again and question preconceptions.
The Boxes have been commissioned by venues across the country for permanent collections and specific exhibitions. Inspired by the Sainsbury Centres permanent collection hedsor have created a new series of work which you are invited to handle and link to world art objects and ideas. Also on display will be the first object dialogue box developed for the British Library and a selection of objects created for other collections.
hedsor are also running a Creative Interpretation and Interventions day on Wednesday 17 November. For more details click here.
