UEA 1255The recently acquired Standing Jizo Bosatsu beautifully illustrates the importance of Buddhist worship in Japan. A variety of materials is used including gold, glass, crystals and wood. Prior to entering the Collection this work was privately owned and would have served for intimate worship in a domestic setting.
