The Pre-Columbian objects within the Sainsbury Collection originate from central and southern America - present-day Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru � and include Aztec, Mayan and Inca works.
Many objects from this area were used in funerals and were placed with the deceased. Others depicted entertainers or were associated with the Aztec ball game.
