UEA 904Among the offerings dedicated at the temples and shrines of Egypt in the Late period (664 BC � 332 BC) were musical instruments with Hathor heads, known as sistra. Hathor is an Egyptian goddess and the sistrum was a type of rattle used in musical performances carried out for the delectation of the gods.
