UEA 576The Indian Miniature paintings from Rajasthan in Western India were quite different in style from those of the Islamic Mughal court the Rajasthani paintings were symbolic as opposed to the more realistic Mughal works. However, when the Mughal influence began to spread across India, the Rajput Hindu rulers were happy to embrace new subject ideas and styles that had been introduced by the Mughals.
